The Mermaid of Malin Head is inspired by Ireland’s old tales of the merrow — mysterious sea folk found throughout Irish folklore — and by the wild beauty of Malin Head at the northern edge of Donegal.

The pendant depicts a beautiful mermaid resting within a silver-tone crescent moon, holding a tiny blue star in her hand. Her shimmering blue tail echoes the colours of the Atlantic, while sparkling details along the moon catch the light beautifully.

There isn’t a traditional legend claiming that this particular mermaid lived at Malin Head — this is our own imagined meeting of Donegal’s dramatic coastline and Ireland’s much older merrow folklore. And somehow, standing above those crashing northern seas, it isn’t difficult to imagine her there. 💙
